Have you ever wanted to gather some of your favorite Etsy finds and show them off to the world? Well, the Etsy Treasury feature allows anyone who has an account with Etsy to publish their own, one of a kind, hand-picked and soul curated way to do just that.
I love creating treasuries and find that it really allows my creativity to come out in a different way than it does in the studio. As an added bonus I get to tell everyone about new and wonderful shops that I have found on Etsy. A double bonus is that those who visit your treasury also can click on your shop name as the Treasury Curator.
One of the biggest things to remember is that if you would like your Etsy Treasury to show up on the Front Page of Etsy then you should not include any items from your own shop. In fact, I just never include items from my own shop because I want to showcase shops or items I have found and, besides, anyone looking at my treasury can click on my shop’s name in order to have a look see at what I am carrying in my shop.
I normally have a theme in mind before I begin creating a Treasury. My general thing is to look at what holidays are coming up, what color schemes are looking hot or even what song I was listening to when I got out of my car this morning. Sometimes my treasuries lean more to the dark side of things and sometimes they are quirky and cute…..kind of depends on my mood for the day.

Another way to see what you may want to base your Treasury List on is to see what is on the Trending List. The Trending list can be found by going to www.Etsy.com, right above the Front Page Treasury of the moment you will see “Handpicked Items” – beside that you will see “see more”. Click on “see more” to be taken to the Treasury Listing. On the right side of the Treasury Listing you will see this:
The red arrow is showing you the title of Today’s Trending Tags – you will see below that what tags are trending today in the Treasuries. Today’s tags I have highlighted in the red box. Now you don’t have to create a Treasury specifically around those tags but it helps to get it on the Front Page.
This is one of my Treasuries as it looked on the Front Page of Etsy….
Ready to make a Treasury?
Start by visiting Etsy.com and logging in. Next, open a second browser window, and click into Etsy there. Then go to the Treasury area in one of your windows (where you can browse other treasuries, too) and click on "Create a List" in the upper right corner.
Use the other browser window to peruse or search for items to add to your list. When you find one, right click on the listing, copy the URL, paste it into your new Treasury, and click "ok." Be sure to click "Save" at the bottom of the page before ever navigating away from your Treasury list (a frustrating mistake that I've made, which results in deletion of your list.) You can also select, at the top of the page, whether you want your list to be public or private; you can keep it private while you work on it, and then publish it when you're ready.
Would love to see some of your Treasuries...please show some links here in the comments. Also, if you have questions please ask away!

Lesley
I had several people tell me they posted one of my designs in the etsy treasury, but had no idea what it was for. Thanks for the information!
