I am a self taught mixed media artist and instructor living in Virginia with my Husband and our family of fur babies. I love all things vintage and strive to use those discarded bits of artistic flotsam and jetsum in my creations. I also love finding those treasures that others can use to feather their souls and their nests so please check out my Etsy Shop as well. Thank you for stopping by.

cathy gillette

probably a regional thing, but out here, our Goodwills pack up big jars/vases large enough for bouquets full of all sorts of costume jewelry for bulk sale by the pound; usually about $29 or so., saw a guy buy all three of them the other day. check places like that and see if you can make an arrangement to buy stuff in bulk. Not all "Diamonds" but might work for you.
try online too:

o.k. Brimfield is in May although I don't usually get my rhinestones there (I do get some scrumptious laces though).

I can start gathering you some rhinestones if you would like (I love to shop for that kind of stuff)... is there a price you don't want to go over?

the goodwill sounds like a great place. I usually get mine at the local consignment shop or church fairs... let me know if you want me to pick some up for you (and give me a ball park figure)

I do have a few bracelets and necklaces. do you want something like that too or just pins and earrings?

love you girl!

I have the same problem here, so I know exactly how you feel. The op-shops on my side of the city have disapeared due to the quakes and the others are beyond my biking distance at the mo. :)Supply is getting to be a problem. We all like to add to our stashes.I prefer to up-cycle and dont want to pay more than I have to. and I mostly cut things up so I'm not wanting the pristine items.Giving items a new lease on life by upcycling the parts that are still saveable.

Love the photo at the top.

Lesley: I will keep my eyes open for thrift store bags of costume jools. I just checked ebay ("Vintage rhinestones") and there are some interesting lots that seem to be in reasonable price range. Take a look? PS i sent you an email that might have ended up in junk mail or spam, so look for it if it hasn't appeared. I can resend.

I haven't done much with Charmed Bracelets recently, as you may have noticed. But her necklace is pretty enough.
