I Can, I Can, I Can.....

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today's mantra is just this....I Can, I Can, I Can, I Can.

Two small words that hold the powerful ability to build confidence, raise self esteem and create self-love.  Now I'm not talking about all of that gazing at yourself in the mirror 24/7 kind of self-love.  Nope, not at all.  I'm talking about just loving yourself in the say way you would love your spouse, a friend, your children, your family or your fur babies. 

I was working in my studio last night and using tools and creating art in some new ways so I found myself saying "I Can" many times.  What a powerful tool to have in your creative toolbox!  I hope to finish one of the canvases tonight and will post images this weekend.  I am really excited about it and truly the last piece of the puzzle is the face and that just down right scares the heck out of me.  I can't wait to take the class in Danbury so I can learn to paint a face!!! 

Some of the items I am creating will end up in Salem, Virginia at Tinkerings and then others will make their way across to Petaluma for Art Is You.  I'm not sure what the folks in Salem know about the Frozen Charlottes though so they may wonder why I am making things with broken dolls.  <smile>  Perhaps I should do a brochure with the story about them enclosed.  Will have to put on my thinking cap....

 

Things I have learned this week while working in the studio....

1.  I love plaster gauze.  It's messy but so much fun!

2.  I love PVA glue.  Super great stuff!!

3.  I HATE these new glue sticks that are supposed to be wrinkle free.  Not even sure why I bought them since I always use UHU but I guess the "wrinkle free" thing caught my eye and I had to have it (I guess I am an advertiser's dream).  Lesson learned....most glue is wrinkle free if you work with it in the right way.  DUH!

4.  I hate the big spider that decided to make an appearance.  If you are a member of Arachnids United or any other spider rescue club please forgive me for this spider is no more.  :(

5.  I still hate E6000.  Highly toxic and I just cannot stand the smell.  Yuck!
