I love the summer....the flowers, the smell of fresh mown lawns, the fireflies, the shade of a tree and the beach. The heat....well that I'm not too keen on. <smile>
One of my favorite things to collect is vintage postcards. It began as an obsession to collect Christmas and Halloween postcards and then I fell in love with them all. Luckily there are many area antique malls and shops that carry a wide variety of them that don't cost too much so I am able to add to my collection frequently.
How does this tie into Summer? Well, I've fallen in love with the vintage floral postcards. I love the colors of them and I love that people actually wrote letters and notes on these and sent them through the mail. I can imagine the excitement of receiving one of these beauties and it kind of makes me sad that we don't correspond in that way any longer. A lost art perhaps but does it really have to be? I know when I received my mail art from Kecia it truly made me smile and made me feel very special that I was worth the time of not only creating it but also of mailing it. <smile>
Here are some of the ones in my collection.....

I hope you enjoyed looking at these beautiful vintage images and that you can find some way to use them in your artistic creations.

Looks like I'm not the only one who retired my blog and moved on. Your new blog looks absolutely lovely Lesley! These days I seem to be into light, clean looking blogs. I think they make me feel lighter myself. ;-)
